Details about the players: Anne Sandstrom

Anne Sandstrom writes songs that are personal, topical, and poetic. Her use of about a half dozen different guitar tunings adds harmonic interest to her swooping melodies. Having performed for audiences across the U.S., Israel, England, and Scotland, Anne is excited to bring her music to The Loop.

Kirby Heard

Since the November 2019 release of her first solo project, Mama’s Biscuits, Kirby Heard has become known for songs that take listeners on journeys through yesteryear and memories of home. Often introspective, inquisitive, and witty, these are songs with an authentic voice and perspective. Chris Spector (Midwest Record) called it ‘delightful, meaty songwriting that could only come from the heart and does a great job of opening your ears.’

Kirby has collected her writing from the past few years into a brand new recording that will be released soon. These songs, like the ones from her first album, call down-home grass roots stories that this generation needs to hear and our generation needs to remember. Come along as Kirby shares how her path has taught her to infuse her music with insight, love and loss, and new promise.

Rick Drost Rick Drost writes and sings songs with depth and heart, songs that repay repeated listening and convey a long love of classical music, natural wonders, poetry. His songs treat life from a varied angles - Jilted lovers, swans in the Public Garden, leftover lobsters, and meditations on meditation.
